Dr. Don James

The Board selects a Chair who is one of the Member Representatives representing Phelps County Regional Medical Center or the Leonard Wood Institute, one of the signatories of the CRADA. The role of Chairman is to guide the AENC governance process, to facilitate meetings of the Board, and to act as the official spokesman for the Board. For the 2017 -2019 period, the Chairman is Dr. Don James from PCRMC. Dr. James is a graduate from Kansas City University of Medicine Bioscience College of Osteopathic Medicine, with focus on Medical Endoscopy, Electrocardiography, Critical Care, Medical Staff Leadership and Hospital Patient Care. He is currently the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs and the Chief Medical Officer at PCRMC.

Dr. Eric Hart

The Vice Chair: Selected from the Founding Member Universities as someone with experience in Neurotrauma as a medical provider and experienced with the Army. For the 2017-2019 period, the Vice Chairman is Dr. Eric Hart from the University of Missouri School of Health Professionals. Dr. Hart, associate chair and associate clinical professor of health psychology, currently oversees the adult neuropsychology clinical operation, and has worked to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration with Fort Leonard Wood to offer neuropsychological assessment to active duty military personnel that have incurred traumatic brain injury.

Eric Anderson

The Treasurer: Also selected from the Founding Member Universities as someone with experience in Neurotrauma and other venues. For the 2017-2019 period, the Treasurer is Eric Anderson from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Anderson came to UMKC from the Missouri University of Science and Technology where he served as a senior licensing and business development specialist since 2006. Prior to his licensing position at Missouri S&T, Anderson worked within the university as a business development specialist and prior to that he served as legal counsel for the Missouri Public Service Commission and the Missouri Department of Revenue. Anderson received bachelor's degrees in Economics and Business Administration, an MBA and JD from MU Columbia. Anderson is a registered patent attorney and member of the Missouri Bar Association. His expertise is in patent law, licensing negotiation and business development.

Matthew Doellman

The Executive Director of the AENC is hired by the Board to conduct all business of the AENC and is someone with Experience in the Army, Research and Executive Board management. For the 2019-2020 period the Executive Director is Mr. Matthew Doellman. Doellman spent 13 years as a U.S. Army Officer on Active Duty. His assignments included serving as a Trauma Nurse at Fort Riley, KS, Fort Sam Houston, TX and with the 2nd Forward Surgical Team in Afghanistan; Clinical Nurse Officer in Charge of the Emergency Department, Medical Company Commander and Executive Office at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Clinical Nurse Officer in Charge of the Emergency Department, Fort Carson, CO.
